June 30, 2025Music & Mindfulness Program Concludes, Offering Transformative Experience for Young Musicians
Madison, VA โ June 22, 2025 โ The 2025 Music & Mindfulness 8-day overnight program successfully concluded today, providing advanced high school orchestral students with a unique and enriching opportunity to hone their musical talents, connect with nature, and cultivate mindfulness techniques. The program, which ran from June 15th to June 22nd, also offered valuable guidance for students aspiring to attend music conservatories and university programs.
Throughout the immersive program, students engaged in a comprehensive curriculum that included orchestral playing, sectionals, chamber music sessions, and numerous performances. Participants broadened their skills through introductory workshops in new genres such as jazz and bluegrass, enjoying the rare chance to play side-by-side with experienced faculty members. A core component of the week-long experience was the integration of mindfulness, with students choosing to study in one of three specialized tracks: horse vibrational coaching, nature immersion, or mindfully-infused music. These tracks were designed to enhance focus, build resilience, reduce stress, and strengthen the mind-body connection, offering a holistic approach to student development. The daily schedule also incorporated recreational activities like swimming, campfires, foraging, and karaoke, fostering a well-rounded and enjoyable environment.
